"We Made It On the Ballot"

Over the past several weeks, something pretty special has happened here in Monroe.
With the help of neighbors, friends, and community members across our city, we gathered the signatures needed to officially place my name on the ballot for Monroe City Council. This milestone belongs to all of you.
Petitioning is one of the most grassroots parts of running for office. It means knocking on doors, standing outside local businesses, having conversations in parking lots, and asking people to take a moment to support the idea that our community deserves a voice. Along the way, I met people who care deeply about Monroe’s future—people who stopped to share their concerns about traffic safety, housing, small businesses, and the direction our city is heading.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.
Thank you to the volunteers who spent their time helping gather signatures. Thank you to the neighbors who welcomed conversations and encouraged the campaign. Thank you to the local businesses that allowed us to stand nearby and speak with residents. And thank you to every single person who signed the petition and helped get this campaign onto the ballot.
Your support made this moment possible.
But more than anything, this process reinforced exactly why I decided to run in the first place: Monroe is full of thoughtful, engaged people who care about their community and want their voices heard.
Now that we’re officially on the ballot, the real work begins.
Over the coming months, my focus will be on continuing to listen and learn from the people who live and work here. I’ll be meeting with local organizations, visiting community spaces, and having as many conversations with residents as possible to better understand the challenges Monroe faces and the opportunities ahead.
I’m especially interested in hearing directly from the people most affected by the issues we’re discussing—from pedestrians and cyclists who want safer streets, to families navigating housing challenges, to small business owners working to grow here.
This campaign is about Monroe’s people. Your experiences, ideas, and concerns will help shape the platform we build together.
If you have thoughts to share, a story about your experience in Monroe, or simply want to connect, I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for helping us reach this first milestone. I’m excited for what comes next.
